The most exciting way to reach the mountaintop ski area is on the Aerial Tramway, which departs regularly from downtown Gatlinburg for a breathtaking 2.1 mile ride to the top of the mountain. The best part is that the Aerial Tramway station is within easy walking distance from the Black Bear Inn & Suites! As an alternative, you can drive to the ski area from the Parkway via Ski Mountain Road. Keep in mind that this road may only be open to vehicles with 4 wheel drive or chains during times of inclement weather.
