1. Sugarland Cellars
Do you enjoy wine tasting? Then you should visit Sugarland Cellars while you’re in Gatlinburg! All of their wines are named after a figure or location in the Smoky Mountains. You can try dry, sweet, or somewhere in between wines at their tasting bar, which is open 7 days a week. Some of their wines include a loganberry called Elkmont and Mountain Laurel, which is a muscadine wine. Sugarland Cellars is part of the Gatlinburg Wine Trail, an attraction where you visit local wineries and fill out a passport at each store you visit!
2. Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que
Ready for lunch or dinner? Walk over to Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que! They have all the classic staples, from baby back ribs to brisket. You should try the pulled pork, which has been slow roasted over hickory wood to get that signature smoky flavor. Bennett’s has delicious homemade barbeque sauce you’ll want to put on whatever you order. Some of the sides you can get include spicy mac and cheese, potato salad, green beans, and more. You can even grab a family pack and take it on a picnic in the national park!
3. Gatlinburg Trail Trailhead
Want to get out into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park? You can easily walk to the Gatlinburg Trail Trailhead from our Gatlinburg hotel on the Parkway! This trail is considered easy and is 3.8 miles roundtrip. You will walk next to the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River for a good portion of the trail, and you’ll even cross a footbridge! There are lots of remains of old homesteads, so this trail is great for people who love history!
4. Smoky Mountain Brewery
Looking for a restaurant that has a little bit of everything? Smoky Mountain Brewery is just a short walk away from our Gatlinburg hotel on the Parkway! Start out with quesadillas or fried pickles. There are chicken wings, and you have a huge selection of sauces. Get the philly cheesesteak or the reuben sandwich. Smoky Mountain Brewery also has burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, and more. Try some of their beer with your food!
5. Aerial Tramway for Ober Gatlinburg
Want to take your whole group to do something fun? The Aerial Tramway for Ober Gatlinburg is right across the street from us! Your take a 2-mile ride on the tram from downtown Gatlinburg to the top of the mountain where Ober Gatlinburg and lots of activities are! Along your ride, you’ll have incredible views of the mountains. Once you reach the top, you’ll find all kinds of fun things to do! There’s an indoor skating rink and ice bumper cars. During the winter, you can ski and snowboard, as well as snow tube, on man made snow.
